Pieter qualified as a dentist in 1976 and as a Specialist Periodontist in 1982 and specialised in Periodontics over the past 25 years.

Pieter is a member of various international and national dental associations, has many publications to his credit and has lectured extensively. In 1993 he completed an advanced course at the world renowned Misch Institute for Implantology in the USA.

Pieter is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Fellow of the Misch Institute for Advanced Implantology and a Member of the American Academy of Periodontology.

Pieter enjoys gardening and photography, as well as travelling, skiing, food and wine and keeping fit.
